Venous Bleeding
Venous bleeding is typically categorized by a cut vein. The blood flow coming from such an injury is typically dark red in color and tends to flow in a steady, oozing and slow fashion. The dark red color is caused by the low amount of oxygenated red blood cells since blood running through veins has used up its oxygen supply and is returning to the heart/lungs for re-oxygenation. This type of bleeding is more serious than capillary bleeding, yet not as severe as the arterial kind that is under pressure.
