Thermal Burns
Thermal burns to the skin are typically the most common among individuals. These can result from contact with a heated surface like an oven or hot pan, to an open flame, and even the most common thermal burn culprit, the sun. Most people have experienced the latter in the form of a sunburn at some point in their lives. Although typically painful and uncomfortable, sunburns are not usually dangerous. Other thermal burns, such as those created by fire, are not quite as simple. Depending on the severity of the injury, these can be life altering or even worse, life threatening. Below are some examples of what a thermal burn would look like.
Treatment of Thermal Burns
Treatment of thermal burns can vary a little based on the source of the burn. You would treat a steam burn differently than you would one caused by an open flame. Although most of these burns require you to stop the burning and further damage to the injury. So follow the steps below for each of the following types.
