Nasopharyngeal Airway
In some of the more extreme cases, the use of a nasopharyngeal airway tube might be necessary for the patient to get air. These tube are not typically in the conventional first aid kit, but are part of the Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) that is issued to military members that are serving in combat areas around the world. The use of this tube might be a necessity in an everyday situation where it is available and must be utilized properly to avoid further injuries to the victim.
